About the Artist
My name is Paola Sangster (nee Fallone), and the name Fallone Art is a nod to my Italian heritage. My path as an artist began at the age of 47 when, inspired by a friend who had taken up art classes, I decided to pick up a paintbrush and give it a go! In my early twenties I loved doing pencil sketches of my favourite movie stars, and enjoyed using oil pastels when at school but hadn’t done anything along these lines for many years.
I quickly discovered a love of oil painting and have embraced this new medium, experimenting with lots of different subjects, and am particularly drawn to images where light and dark have been used to dramatic effect. You will notice that I often favour a black background.
My love of art (and crafts) was a gift passed down from my mother, Moira Fallone. Crafts were a huge part of her life and I was very fortunate to benefit from her talents and tutoring from a young age, exposing me to so many crafts along the way, some of which I still pursue as a hobby. I know that my mum would have been so pleased to see me continue to make time for my art and to experience the joy that it gives me.
This website - and the decision to share and sell my prints - would not exist without my incredible friends and family. I am deeply grateful for all the encouragement and support I have received of my painting. Your belief in my work has given me the confidence to take this next step, and I am thrilled to welcome you along on my artistic journey. Thank you for taking the time to explore Fallone Art; I hope you enjoy looking through my gallery.
